I supervise for the Texas LPC Associate and the APT Registered Play Therapist credentials. Some of the LPC candidates I supervise have supervision sites already, some are working in my office. Some supervisees are also solely seeking supervision for their RPT credentials.
If you are interested in working in my office with me, we can discuss that option in more detail. There are some "musts" , though, including...
1) you are able to work 20-40 hours a week, Monday through Friday as well as Saturday mornings or afternoons.
2) you are able to work with all ages of clientele, 3 1/2 years and upwards.
3) you are able to practice and be supervised for Child-Centered Play Therapy and also offer parent consultations for your child clients' parents.
4) you are actively seeking supervision and working on your hours to complete the Registered Play Therapist certification via the Association for Play Therapy.
Other questions and concerns potential supervisees have are:
*Individual session rates for LPC Associates and RPT candidates under my supervision is $90 per session.
*Group rates are $60 per session, when groups are available.
*If you are employed with me, working at least 20 hours weekly in my office, your supervision fee is waived.
*My theoretical stance for children is Child-Centered Person Therapy, incorporating also CPRT when possible. For teens and adults I have a foundation of person-centered approaches, knowing when to utilize CBT, ACT, and EMDR.
*For supervision, I find developmental as well as process/modeling methods to be helpful. We will toward case conceptualization, interventions as necessary, and healthy self-care for you to practice effectively and thrive as a therapist. Indeed, I will "meet you where you're at", and your needs will change as you grow as a therapist.
